Meaning: Stegosaurus means 'roofed lizard'
When it Lived: Late Jurassic period (156 – 140 million years ago)
Size: Stegosaurus grew to around 9 metres long.
Location known: North America, Asia, Africa and also the UK.
A impressive dinosaur with a brain the size of a walnut (approx. 70 grms) but in command of an animal the size and characteristics of an armoured battle tank.
